Media and Presentation Specialist: Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages December 2015
About: As a self proclaimed “Jack of all trades, master of none”, I’ve always been interested in everything that is digital media and computing. Thanks to my father, a computer guru back when computers were still the size of city blocks, I grew up learning about the amazing things you can with technology. I honed my presentational software skills as a naval Intelligence Officer where I earned my unofficial “100+ hour PowerPoint” certification. With so much work to do, I became obsessed with figuring out how to maximize efficiency of office productivity software. I love helping people realize that there’s usually a faster and more efficient way to do those tedious tasks we always complain about.
I become interested in photography later in life and, as an amateur landscape photographer, I wanted to learn how to make my photos tell the story of the gorgeous scene in front of me. I learned just enough about photoshop and photo editing to be dangerous and also learned about video editing in the process. I think that if I had to do it all over again, I’d probably go to film school…but I guess I’ll have to settle for making short class films for fun.
