You’re dreading that 30 minute presentation that you’re going to give some time in the next 4 weeks. You can play it cool, but you know you’re dreading it. Your friends know, your Facebook friends know, your family knows. The ability to deliver convincing, informative, and engaging presentations is important in almost any career and a component of most classes here at MIIS. For your sake (and the sake of the people who will see your presentation) we hope that you’ll come to this workshop on developing presentation skills.
We’ll cover some presentation best practices, explore the strengths and weaknesses of various presentation tools, delve into some multimedia learning theory (don’t worry, it’s not the kind of theory that you’re used to learning about), and put our learning into action to correct some common mistakes. Come prepared with your own presentation experiences, your concerns and ideas about upcoming presentations, and a readiness to work with your peers!
